Discolored Water

Due to Tropical Storm Isaias, the Village of Suffern Water Treatment Facility experienced damage to key components of the system, most notably the well pump motor for the primary production well.  It is anticipated that the primary pump will be back in service by the end of the week. While waiting for the motor to arrive, the Village has been using secondary wells and an emergency interconnect with Suez Water to provide water to its residents. As a result, these activities have caused discoloration of water in some areas within the Village. If you have discolored water, you should run your cold tap until it is clear. Although not harmful, discolored water can stain clothing, so it is best to wait for the water to clear before doing any laundry.  If the discoloration continues, please call the Village Water Department at 845-357-0950.  Thank you for your patience.
