Building Department Procedures During Village Hall Closing

At this time, the Building Department will continue to issue building permits for additions/alterations/renovations, roofing, dumpsters/pods etc. (anything that would normally require a permit). However, due to limited staff and accessibility, we ask that you obtain the building permit application and affidavit of ownership forms on line. Please visit www.suffernny.gov , Important Documents and Links, Forms/Schedules/Links to obtain these forms.
In addition to the above forms, you will also need to provide copies of Rockland County Contractors License, Liability Insurance, Workman’s Comp. and Disability Insurance (on their individual forms) for all contractors that will be working on-site. Liability insurance forms must list the Village of Suffern as additionally insured. If applicable, please include two copies of construction drawings with your submission. To obtain the permit fee, call the Building Department office at 845-357-2603.
Completed forms can be either mailed or dropped off at Village Hall. Due to the period of the Emergency Declaration, the expiration date of all building permits will be extended. If you have any questions or need clarification please do not hesitate to call us at 845-357-2603.
